About the MBBS programme and its Duration

In the first year, curriculum covers basic sciences such as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Psychiatry, Medical Practice I, Biochemistry, etc. The second year focuses on studying fundamental concepts in Microbiology and Parasitology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Medicine and Surgery, Psychiatry II and Medical Economics. The final year of the medical program is spent in hospital duty.

The Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) which is known as MBBS in India is a five year graduate program. The program consists of three years of academic instruction, one year of clinical clerkship and the final year of post-graduate internship. Here the academic calendar starts in June and ends in March. There are two semesters in each academic year, one from June to October and the other from November to March.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students willing to enrol in Philippines Universities must have science in their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their compulsory subject.
  • The student has to score minimum 50% in PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in order to pursue medical science in Philippines.
  • Has to qualify NEET with the minimum passing marks of 150 for general category and 115 for reserved category students according to the guidelines of NMC.
  • Students have to clear National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) exam to qualify for their medical degree. However universities of Philippines taking admission without NMAT provide specific time period to the students to clear the examination.
